New Website Helps Track Bears Stadium Information
Districts 15, 211, and 214 Launch New Website to Offer School Perspective on Bears Stadium & Mixed Use Redevelopment in Arlington Heights
Welcome to SuburbanStadium.org!
To provide access to factual, updated information about the impact that the proposed Bears stadium in Arlington Heights and its companion mega-project development could have on our schools and taxpayers, this website was created by the three school districts that lie within all or part of the former Arlington Park International Racetrack property, now owned by the Chicago Bears Football Club: Community Consolidated School District 15, Township High School District 211, and High School District 214.
We hope this site will be an educational resource of special interest to our school district community members whose property taxes primarily fund our schools. Our intention is to offer the unique perspective of how this project may impact our schools – both opportunities and challenges – now and for decades to come.
Various legislative proposals, competing municipalities, property assessment, tax and land-use issues, traffic concerns, stadium-related commercial development – many issues will be addressed as the Bears proposal unfolds. We hope this website will serve as a home base of information from our unique perspective as educators about these and other concerns and possibilities.
While we are three uniquely different districts, our mutual goal is to ensure that students in all our schools have the best education possible and that taxpayers in the communities we serve are treated fairly and acknowledged for the investments they have made to ensure quality education.
With great opportunity comes great responsibility. We hope this site will help educate our community members about key components of the proposals, including:
A timeline of developments
-
Key points about school funding and property taxes
-

-
