All D15 schools recognized for PBIS implementation in 2021-22!
Congratulations to all of our District 15 schools for receiving PBIS recognition during the 2021-2022 school year!
This school-wide framework aims at closing achievement gaps and increasing the number of students who graduate ready for college or a career. National research shows that full implementation of this type of framework leads to improved student outcomes.
To qualify for recognition, schools implemented PBIS through their Tier 1 systems of school management, classroom management, correcting student misbehavior, and acknowledging student positive behavior, and Tier 2/3 interventions and support systems. Building leadership, in partnership with their Climate and Culture teams, reviewed their school's PBIS implementation using the Tiered Fidelity Inventory, a tool designed for reflection and goal setting, as a requirement for 2022 recognition.
This framework has helped us increase the consistency of effective instruction for all students, build staff knowledge and skills to support all learners, use data to proactively identify and provide support for students, and shift to a culture that supports stronger relationships with students and their families. As a result of our work, we are being recognized by the Midwest PBIS Network. This helps us celebrate our efforts as we progress toward full implementation.
