The Boundaries Task Force is made up of 37 community members, including District 15 parents and residents without children in our schools. Its goal is to create scenarios for possible boundary changes that will mitigate capacity concerns at some buildings and better meet the needs of the community. The Jan. 17 meeting was mostly a working meeting, where subcommittees collaborated on proposals and next steps.
The committee will begin to meet more frequently with a goal of presenting up to four proposals to the community in the late spring. Once feedback is received from the community, the task force will refine the plans before sharing them with the Board of Education for its review in May.
If a boundary change is approved by the Board of Education, the earliest date of implementation would be August of 2020.
