Our technology initiatives exist to serve a clear purpose: empowering students to thrive in a connected world. Developed by our Technology & Learning Focus Group, the Portrait of a D15 Digital Learner expands our established Portrait of a Graduate to capture the specific digital competencies, behaviors, and mindsets our students develop throughout their time in District 15.

Effective Communicator
- Bring their ideas to life for many different audiences, knowing how to pick the communication mode and tool ensuring their work is contextual, respectful, and effective.
Collaborator
- Manage team work regardless of physical proximity and practicing “digital manners” by providing constructive dialogue and feedback.
- Navigate digital workspaces and tools to leverage the unique strengths of their teammates, building a collective commitment to their shared goals.
Critical Thinker
- Leverage technology tools to analyze and assess information through research and investigation to solve problems.
- Evaluate resources for bias and accuracy, ensuring their thinking is informed by solid evidence.
Empathetic Citizen
- Discern digital resources and tools to understand diverse backgrounds and cultures, fostering ethical and empathetic behaviors in their digital lives.
