Family Liaisons serve as a parent liaison between District 15 and the Community.
- We provide information on:
- Educational resources for parents:
- Basic Math & Literacy
- Infinite Campus & Computer Support
- Students support outside of school
- Resources available in the Community
- Educational resources for parents:
- Duties and Responsibilities:
- Contact parents and families through phone calls and meetings at school (and POC or district site) in support of initial contact by school personnel to encourage participation in School and/or District/Community activities and events.
- Provide information to parents concerning District/School activities and procedures such as registration, PTA, curriculum, assessment, minor discipline matters etc. as stipulated in our District 15 Parent/Student Manual, the Board of Education Policy Manual, and the Illinois Administrative School Code.
- Provide information about resources (local agencies), presentations/activities that will increase the participation of Hispanic families in School/Community and parent training opportunities (e.g, local agencies).
- Assist families new to the country to find resources, training opportunities.
- Assist with the activities related to District 15 Bilingual Parent Advisory Council.
- Attend meetings and school events as needed to increase participation (PTA, BPAC, Literacy, Plaza, etc.)
- Provide interpreting services in English and Spanish as needed for families.
- Perform other position-related duties as assigned by the Multilingual Program Administrators.
