Illinois Report Cards

Illinois Report Card logo

The Illinois Report Cards provide information about schools’ performances on the Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) Exam, the Illinois Science Assessment (ISA), the 5Essentials Survey, ISBE Equity Journey Continuum, school student body demographics, and comparisons of how this information compares to District and state averages. The Illinois Report Card also includes information about each school's performances on the previous state tests, the PARCC and ISAT, and are typically released in late fall.

2022-23 Summative Designations

District 15 proudly educates over 11,000 uniquely academically, culturally, and socio-economically diverse students. Educating students with a range of needs and abilities requires vision, financial resources, dynamic staffing, and a mindset that exemplifies our steadfast belief that all students can and will succeed as a result of a District 15 education. We continue to be deeply and intentionally focused on student growth through a rich and rigorous core learning experience, complemented by intervention support, and acceleration opportunities.

Every October, each school receives an Illinois Report Card that shares progress on a range of academic and student success indicators. Schools also receive an annual Summative Designation on the Report Card: Exemplary, Commendable, Targeted Support, Comprehensive Support, or Intensive Support. This designation is based on the school’s overall accountability indicators, as well as data for multiple student groups.

For the 2022-23 school year, District 15 continues to outperform the state average in each tested area: English/Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and attaining English proficiency for students learning English.

Thomas Jefferson Elementary School has been designated as Exemplary, which means that the school’s performance is in the top 10% of all Illinois schools. Thomas Jefferson’s Exemplary rating reflects strong growth in both math and reading.

All other District 15 schools have been designated as Commendable, which means that all schools, and each of the demographic groups within each school, have achieved or exceeded the state’s performance targets.

Building on information from the Illinois Report Card, District 15 educators use robust classroom and schoolwide assessments to plan rigorous academic instruction for students. Teachers also use additional assessments to monitor and support our students’ social and emotional well-being. The District 15 Strategic Plan, finalized this fall, renews our commitment to understanding, engaging, and supporting the needs of all learners.
