Free & Reduced-Price Meals

If your child attends one of the schools listed below*, and your household meets federal guidelines, your family may be eligibile for free or reduced-price meals under the National School Lunch and Breakfast programs. 

  • Frank C. Whiteley Elementary School
  • Hunting Ridge Elementary School
  • Marion Jordan Elementary School
  • Pleasant Hill Elementary School
  • Willow Bend Elementary School
  • Thomas Jefferson Middle School
  • Plum Grove Middle School

Once an application is approved, the free milk/meal or reduced-price meals will be automatically discounted in the student’s meal account. Reduced-price meals are $0.40 for lunch and $0.30 for breakfast. Students who qualify for free milk/meal or reduced-price meals are entitled to both breakfast (if available at the school) and lunch. If a student wishes to purchase a second meal or any a la carte items, the student must have cash available or money deposited in their account in advance.

Households that are approved for free or reduced-price meals are also automatically waived student fees.

Federally-funded Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) Program

Some schools in District 15 are eligible for the federally-funded Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) program.

Students at these CEP-eligibile schools will receive free meals regardless of their economic status:

  • John G. Conyers Learning Academy
  • Central Road School
  • Gray M. Sanborn School
  • Jane Addams School
  • Kimball Hill School
  • Lake Louise School
  • Lincoln School
  • Stuart R. Paddock School
  • Virginia Lake School
  • Winston Campus Elementary
  • Carl Sandburg Middle School
  • Walter R. Sundling Middle School
  • Winston Campus Middle School

For students attending these CEP-schools, no other application is required to receive free meals.
