Board Member Vacancy

The Community Consolidated School District 15 Board of Education is now accepting applications to appoint a new member of the Board of Education to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Board Member Lisa Beth Szczupaj. The individual appointed to this position will serve the remainder of the current four-year term, which continues through 2029.

We are grateful to Mrs. Szczupaj for her service to the students, families, staff, and broader District 15 community.

Who Is Eligible to Apply?

Applicants must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age;
  • Be a United States citizen;
  • Be a registered voter within District 15;
  • Have resided in Illinois and within District 15 for at least one year immediately preceding the appointment; and
  • Meet all other legal requirements for service on a Board of Education, including not being a registered sex offender.

Selection Process

  • Applications will be reviewed by the Board of Education following the July 12 deadline.
  • Selected candidates will be invited to participate in an in-person interview during the week of July 20. Specific dates and times are currently being finalized.
  • Following the interview process, the Board will select an individual to fill the vacancy.
  • It is anticipated that the new Board member will be officially seated at the August 5, 2026, Board of Education meeting.
