Timeline: Adjusting School Calendars
To accommodate the need for an extended summer due to the Moving 15 Forward construction, especially the summer of 2024, the Board of Education approved a revision to the 2023-24 and 2024-25 school calendars.
eLearning Plan
2023-24 and 2024-25 School Years
District 15 has implemented an eLearning Plan for the 2023-24 and 2024-25 school years in order to support the amount of construction necessary to move all aspects of the Moving 15 Forward plan forward, and to avoid extending the last day of school. This will allow a 14-week construction window during the 2023-24 summer break. Should District 15 experience inclement weather during the 2023-24 and 2024-25 school years and need to utilize an emergency day, it will call an eLearning Day.
Please see the D15 eLearning Plan for more information about what an eLearning Day looks like for students and staff.
While we understand that eLearning is not everyone’s favorite option, we know that many staff and families do not want the 2024-25 school year to go past the middle of June. Therefore, we will utilize an eLearning Plan in both 2023-24 and 2024-25 in the event we need to use an inclement weather day. The eLearning Plan has been approved by the North Suburban Cook County Regional Office of Education.
The official school calendars were recommended by both the administration and the Classroom Teachers’ Council (CTC).
