Greetings from the music room at Central Road Elementary School!
This is the place where all our classroom learning comes together -Science, Math, Reading, Language, Physical Education, and Humanities.
We use our ears to listen, our numbers for counting, our eyes to read and follow, our mouths to sing, our hands and feet to move, and our souls to share human experiences.
Degrees and Certifications:

I have been teaching music in the Chicagoland Area since 1997, and perfoming since third grade. Originally I thought I would be a high school choral director, but after being shifted to Elementary School I will never go back. Here is where the foundation is laid and I am the perfect person for that job. We dance, sing, laugh, count, watch, and work as a team to accomplish goals. There is nothing more powerful than a beautiful human experience shared amongst friends and peers. That is my goal for my students.
My side hustle is teaching private piano and voice to students in my neighborhood, and accompanying solo contests and chorus concerts at Shepard Middle School.
Occasionally you can find me performing in Chicago with the Apollo Chorus, especially in December for our annual Messiah performance. I have also been known to appear in community theater, but my true passion is classical choral. Nothing beats raising the rafters in an old church downtown while singing alongside my colleagues.
