Student Attendance
Student attendance is a vital component of your child's success here at Kimball Hill. Please make every effort to get your child to school each day.
If your child will not be in school due to illness or other circumstances, please call the attendance line at 847-963-5201 before the start of the school day. Any unverified absence will generate an automated attendance call, text and email home at 10:30 a.m.
As part of our Kimball Hill School Improvement Plan, our Kimball Hill Staff will be taking measures during the 2019-2020 school year to closely monitor and improve student attendance. Our School Improvement Team is excited to share our new procedures and guidelines for monitoring student attendance and working with families whose children are identified as chronically absent. For now, I would like to share with you some important information regarding attendance from Attendance Works, a nationally recognized and research based organization working to improve school attendance.

Health Forms
For the purpose of safeguarding the health of children, District 15 enforces Illinois student health requirements. These requirements consist of health, dental, and eye exams and immunizations specific to grade and age.
Health exams are required for students entering preschool, kindergarten, sixth grade, and those who are new to the school. The Certificate of Child Health Examination form is available online and in the school office.
The exam form, completed and signed by a licensed healthcare provider, must be dated within one year prior to the first day of school and must include lead screening for children who are six years or younger and diabetes screening.
Health forms can be brought to the school office at any time.
On October 15, students who have not provided a health exam or required immunizations will be excluded from school. Students new to Illinois schools, who register midterm, have 30 days following registration to comply with the health requirements.
For more information on specific health forms needed, visit the Health Services website.

Dear Kimball Hill Families:
The first day of school is quickly approaching!
- Students in grades 1-6 will return to school on August 17, 2022. This will be a half day for students (11:25 dismissal) and full day for staff.
- Kindergarten and preschool classes will begin August 18, 2022. This will be a regualr school day.
This email replaces the packet you used to receive in the mail over the summer. It is filled with important information to review before school begins! Please read it over carefully, and feel free to call or email the school office with any questions you might have.
We have spent the summer months on some very important projects at Kimball Hill. We have new vinyl decor on the exterior main entrance and are working to add some througout our school interior. Our custodians have been working extra hard giving our building a deep clean this summer, painting classrooms, key areas and have even cleaned out some other spaces to make our building run more efficiently. Our returning students will also notice that several classrooms have moved to new locations! . I am so excited to see you all at Meet the Teacher on August 16th 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm.
We look forward to welcoming you back to school soon!
Sincerely,
Michelle LaCamera, Kimball Hill Principal
