Melissa Favata

Director of Early Childhood

Melissa Favata will join District 15 as the new Director of Early Childhood beginning July 1, 2026. 

This new district-level role reflects the district’s continued commitment to strengthening early learning experiences and ensuring high-quality, consistent support for our youngest learners, their families, and our staff across our early childhood programs.

Mrs. Favata brings a wealth of experience in education. She currently serves as the Early Childhood Principal, Special Education Coordinator, and EL Coordinator at Wood Dale School District 7. She previously held the roles of Early Childhood Assistant Principal at West Chicago School District 33 and Early Childhood Special Education Coordinator at Crystal Lake School District 47. Earlier in her career, she worked in Woodstock Community Unit School District 200 in a variety of roles, including Preschool for All Expansion Teacher, bilingual and monolingual preschool teacher, and PLC Lead Teacher.

EDUCATION

• Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Studies with Special Education Approval from Northern Illinois University
• Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Aurora University
• Additional endorsements in:
  • English as a Second Language
  • Learning Behavior Specialist 1
