Dorel Fontagneres, Transportation

This month, District 15 proudly recognizes Ms. Dorel Fontagneres, who has served as a bus driver in our Transportation Department for an incredible 45 years.

When Dorel first began driving in 1980, she thought it might only be a short-term job. Instead, it became a lifelong commitment to serving the amazing students and families of District 15. Over the decades, Dorel has safely transported thousands of children to and from school, always with care and dedication. She reflects that what has made her work so meaningful are the people she has met along the way, her colleagues in Transportation who “give their all every day,” as well as the parents and students she has come to know over the years.

Dorel shared that these 45 years have helped her grow in responsibility, gratitude, and appreciation for all that District 15 has given her. She notes that when she looks back, it hardly feels like that much time has passed, which is a testament to how much she has enjoyed the work.
