Gorman Christian, Technology

The D15 Technology Department is proud to nominate Gorman Christian, Director of Information Systems, for recognition as a staff member who goes Above and Beyond for his service to the district. Gorman is being honored for his visionary and innovative leadership, technical expertise, ingenuity, and his deep commitment to helping teaching and learning thrive in District 15.

We would also like to recognize the hard work of his team and others involved in the migration and implementation of our new student information system:

Gorman has taken on the herculean task of leading the district through a full transition to a new student information system and laying a stronger foundation of data architecture and management. In the months leading up to and through the start of the school year, he has regularly invested 60–70 hour work weeks, developing and integrating systems that connect to the SIS, including our new communication platform, ParentSquare, and multiple curriculum resources. His keen sense of systems and logic has led to efficient, sustainable solutions that propel the district forward. One notable example occurred over a weekend in August, when Gorman worked through illness to resolve an issue not even directly related to technology—simply because he cared about the greater good. His dedication and concern for others benefit our students, staff, and community each and every day. 

Gorman has also guided his team through extensive training, ensuring they are equipped to support every process, platform, and user from registration and attendance to data analytics and report cards. Wherever there has been a need, Gorman and the Information Systems team have worked tirelessly to keep district operations running smoothly, even through illness and personal time off, being on the call and at the ready.

The district and the Information Systems team, thank you, Gorman, for your boundless efforts behind the scenes that allow the rest of us to aim high and achieve higher. We are so lucky to have you all as part of our district.
