Hi there, my name is Andrea Krause and I am the school nurse at Thomas Jefferson Elementary School. Let me introduce myself to you all. I graduated from Valparaiso University in Valparaiso, Indiana with a Bachelor's degree in Nursing in 1992. I worked right out of college at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights for around 2.5 years. I worked on the Medical, Surgical, Renal, Urology floor and sometimes floated to Pediatrics. Since then, I have worked in Utilization Review and got licensed in the state of IL and did Home Day Care when my son was young. I came back into Nursing when I was a Substitute Nurse for CCSD15 for 11 years. I have now been full time at District 15 for 11 years and love it! I previously worked at Virginia Lake School for 10 years.

I have been married to my wonderful husband for 28 years and we have a son who is 26 years old and is a Police Officer in South Holland, IL. We also have a daughter who is 23 and is going to Columbia College in Chicago. She is studying Filmmaking and Photography. We also have 2 great dogs. Bailey is a Shih-poo (pictured with me) who is 1 year old and then we have a Black Lab named Jet who is 9 years old. My claim to fame is that I won a car on the show “The Price is Right” in 1990!

Time flies and I love being a School Nurse at TJ. I love seeing the kids grow and learn from KDG all the way through 6th grade. Hopefully, this enables you to get to know me a little better. Feel free to stop by my office or call me anytime.
