Volunteer Information

  • Interested in volunteering with Special Olympics? You must be at least fourteen (14) years or older to be a Special Olympics Volunteer. Volunteering for Special Olympics can create lifetime friendships and great rewards. 

    There are two different ways you may volunteer. You may volunteer for a specific sport and attend weekly practices or volunteer on the day of a specific event.

    Class A: Individuals with 1-on-1 unsupervised contact with athletes. A background check is conducted for all Class A volunteers.

    Special Olympics requires all volunteers to complete a registration process.

    In addition, you must complete the Protective Behaviors and Concussion Training Courses on-line.

    Once you have completed your online registration, Special Olympics Illinois will contact the Blue Jays stating you are an approved coach
