    Self-Advocacy, Communication & Interoception

    Monday, April 17th, 2023

    VIRTUAL MEETING

    6:00 – 7:30 pm

Chloe Rothschild, Speaker and Autism Self-Advocate, will join us to discuss Interoception, Communication and Self-Advocacy from her unique perspective. Interoception is a sense that allows us to feel sensations from the inside of our bodies. Interoception provides a connection between the mind and the body. Essentially, your body feels a certain way, and your brain uses that information to help you identify what feeling you are experiencing. Our ability to communicate effects all areas of our lives. As students with unique needs grow many factors come into play when developing the skills of self-advocacy. Self-Advocacy involves self-awareness, executive functions and self-regulation. Developing Interoceptive and Communication skills can help improve students’ abilities to self-advocate.>
