    Work On Learning Forever

Arrival/Departure Procedures: Students will be allowed to enter the building upon arrival, but no earlier than 8:35 a.m. Supervision of students before this time is not provided, so please help your child arrive at the appropriate time for school.

The first lane of the school parking lot has been designated for student drop-off/pick-up. For student safety, please have children exit cars on the passenger side. Do not park or leave your car unattended in the striped pedestrian walking area of the drop-off lane. This poses a hazardous situation and blocks the flow of traffic. Please adhere to the posted sign indicating a right turn only when exiting the parking lot during arrival and dismissal.

The bus loading zone is along the curb in front of the school. Please do not park along the yellow painted curb for any reason.

Once students have been dismissed, classroom doors will be locked and re-entry to the classrooms will not be permitted.

Walking to School/Crossing Guards: A crossing guard is posted at the corner of Brookmeade and Central Road. All students are to cross at this intersection. Students walking or biking from the east are to turn onto the sidewalk upon arrival at the parking lot as opposed to crossing the entry drive.

    Hunting Ridge School PTA

    PTA Website: huntingridgepta.org

    PTA President: Laura Barnett, huntingridgepta@gmail.com

School Mission: Hunting Ridge is a school that fosters a child-centered environment where teachers are the facilitators of the learning process. We believe that we can develop world-class learners by providing a framework that includes opportunities for our students to advance and flourish in their independence. In an age where children must take ownership in their learning and apply their learning to life’s experiences, we must educate through a variety of strategies and a philosophy that empowers our students to strive for excellence.

School Pledge: I promise to follow the Hawk Habits of being respectful, responsible, and safe. My words and actions will be kind, positive, and encouraging throughout the day at Hunting Ridge School. Go Team Hawks!

Arrival/Departure Procedures: Students are not to arrive at school before 8:30 a.m. The staff will begin supervision outside at 8:30 a.m. Therefore, students will need to dress appropriately. Walkers should adjust their travel time accordingly. At 8:40 a.m., students will be allowed to enter the building. Once in the school, students will go directly to class and get prepared for the 8:45 a.m. start time. This door closes promptly at 8:45 a.m.

If you drive your child(ren) to school, please use the rear of the school on Mallard Drive for drop-off. Children Grades K-3/4 will line up on the upper blacktop; Grades 4-6 on the lower blacktop.

Students who arrive late (after 8:45 a.m.) must enter through the front door and check in at the office.

Students will be dismissed as a class using their designated exit. All students who ride the bus will exit and proceed to the designated bus area. At dismissal, K-2 students who are not bus riders will meet on the upper blacktop for parent pick-up. Students in Grades 3-6 that are walkers or have parent pick-up will exit Door #14, located on the Mallard Drive side of the school. Parents who would like to drive their children home need to park on the east side (side closest to school) of Mallard Drive. Drivers may also use Illinois Avenue, but do not park east of the fire hydrant, as this is a fire lane. Specific pick-up information can be found on the school website.

For the safety of our children, all parents who bring their dogs at the end of the school day are asked to stay across the street away from the children and wait for their children to cross the street by the crossing guard.

Walking to School/Crossing Guards: A crossing guard is posted at the corner of Mallard and Illinois before and after school. All students who cross Illinois Avenue must use the crossing guard. Bicycle racks are located behind the school on the upper blacktop. Students are asked to walk their bikes once they arrive on the upper blacktop.

Parking: Our visitors and volunteers are asked to park in our parking lots whenever possible for all of our school activities. We also have a parking option on the south side of Illinois Avenue between our driveway and the stop sign on the corner of Harvard Drive and Illinois Avenue. Community parking is allowed for large events like Open House or Parent Orientation. However, “No Parking” postings must still be observed.

Belong Together, Work Together, Succeed Together

To collaborate, learn, and promote a safe learning community where all children learn and grow. All members will seek to understand children’s individual strengths and weaknesses and foster academic and social potential while promoting independence, curiosity, and learning.

Arrival/Departure Procedures: Student safety is our top concern. By following all posted signs, drop off/pick up procedures, and driving regulations we can keep our children safe while keeping traffic moving quickly. As a reminder, state law prohibits cell phone use in a school zone. It is also illegal to pass a bus when its stop-arm is out. Thank you for your cooperation.

    Important Information to Know

    • Students should arrive to school no earlier than 7:35 a.m. (except for students eating breakfast).
    • Breakfast begins at 7:25 a.m. There is no adult supervision prior to these times.
    • Students must be seated in their classrooms by 7:50 a.m. in order to be considered on time.

    Bus Riders

    • Buses will drop off and pick up students in the back of the school.
    • NO cars are allowed in the bus zone in the morning or afternoon.
    • NO cars should enter the staff parking lot to drop off or pick up students. It is unsafe to have students cross the Bus Zone.

***The JA parking lot (next to Jane Addams Drive) is CLOSED for car drop-off and pick-up.

    Car Riders and Walkers

    • Car riders should only use the front entrance drive. Students should only exit from the passenger side of the vehicle.
    • Cars must pull all the way forward in order to keep the line moving quickly. Please watch for staff members to wave you forward.
    • Walkers should always stay on sidewalks.
    • Walkers and car riders may enter/exit the building through the front doors or courtyard doors.
    • Parents meeting walkers should arrange a location in which to meet their child and let the child’s teacher know the location. Parents often meet their child in the courtyard or the playground areas.

School Pledge: “I pledge at Kimball Hill School to respect myself and the rights and property of others. I am Proactive and Responsible for my behavior. I care about Synergizing with others in my school. I will be fair and Think Win-Win. I will remember to know the way, go the way, and show the way.

Arrival/Departure Procedures: Students should arrive no earlier than 8:30 a.m. as supervision prior to that time is not provided. All students will line up on the playground until the first bell rings. Walkers should adjust their travel time accordingly. If you drive your child(ren) to school, please use the front circle or School Street for drop-off. Students are to enter the building and go to their classrooms when they arrive between 8:35 a.m. and 8:45 a.m. No child should enter the building before 8:40 a.m. The south parking lot is reserved for buses and staff parking, but visitors may utilize this lot during the school day. Please do not to drop off students in this area. Students who arrive late (after 8:45 a.m.) must enter through the front door.

Families who plan to use the semicircle drive in front of the building should observe the following procedures to ensure its most effective usage:

    A.M. Procedures:

    1. All vehicles should enter at the north end of the circle drive and exit at the south end. There will be one lane of traffic.
    2. Pull up as far as possible toward the stop sign to let out your child. Each child should get out of the car on the curb side. Parents should not get out of their cars as this will prevent the line from flowing. Staff will be out front to help students get out of their cars and into the building each morning.
    3. Both A.M. and P.M. Kindergarten will be dropped off at the front of the building, as well. Staff will be there to receive these students and help them get to their classroom.
    4. If you are dropping off your child for the C.A.R.E. program and arrive after 8:30 a.m., please park in the parking lot—NOT the circle drive—and use the crosswalk to bring your child into the building.
    5. If you are late dropping off your child, please walk them into the office to sign them in.

    P.M. Procedures:

    1. All vehicles should enter at the north end of the circle drive and exit at the south end.
    2. Parents not in a parking spot should keep moving in a circular manner until they see their child(ren), or find a parking spot
    3. Do not double park.
    4. *CHILDREN ARE NOT ALLOWED TO CROSS BETWEEN CARS*
    5. To avoid a bottleneck, please consider parking along School Street. Children can then walk to the car. Families who have followed this suggestion have been pleased. They have simply set a predetermined area for their child(ren) to walk to each day. Congestion around the building has been avoided, and a safer environment has been created for all children. No vehicles are to be parked and left unattended in the semicircle drive or on School Street. The Rolling Meadows Police Department will enforce parking regulations strictly. Parents are urged to adhere to them.

We ask parents to follow our school rules for parking and to be respectful to staff on duty who are watching out for the safety of all children.

Walking to School/Crossing Guards: If your child walks to school, we have adult crossing guards that are provided by the Rolling Meadows Police Department. Please take advantage of these services at the following locations:

    • Kirchoff and Meadow
    • School Street and Meadow
    • Campbell and Meadow

All walkers will line up on the playground until the bell rings.

Student Pledge: I am committed to working hard to prepare myself for college by following the Lincoln Lion Laws.

Arrival/Departure Procedures: Breakfast is offered every morning to students. Students who want to eat breakfast may enter at the side door near the gym at 8:30 a.m. and go directly to the multi-purpose room for breakfast. Students who provide their own transportation to school should arrive no earlier than 10 minutes before school begins. Please drop off at the Farmgate car loop. Do not park on Ridgewood or in Prince of Peace parking lot.

At the end of the day, students will exit via a designated door, bus riders will go directly to their buses, and car riders will wait at the front of the pick-up line in the car loop. Staff will assist students.

Parents who are picking up their child should pull along the right side of the car loop so that cars can pull out of the line and exit to the left side. Cars need to pull up as far as possible to expedite the car loop system. Please avoid pulling into a parking space and attempting to leave in the middle of dismissal time. This creates a safety hazard to our students. Do not park your car or leave it unattended in the car loop line.

    School Mission Statement

The Pleasant Hill Community will continually promote and practice respect, compassion, integrity, tolerance, self-discipline, and dignity. We will develop strong academic and interpersonal skills necessary to be successful in the future. By using cooperative efforts and open communication, we will become effective problem solvers within a quality learning environment.

    School Motto—“Learners today, leaders tomorrow”

Arrival/Departure Procedures: Arriving on time for class each day is important! Late arrivals interrupt others, but, more importantly, tardy students miss part of their school day. Since supervision does not begin until 8:35 a.m., students should not arrive at school before 8:35 a.m. Students will be able to enter the school at 8:35 a.m. Those who arrive after 8:45 a.m. must stop in the office for a pass to class.

All buses will load and unload in front of the school in the Illinois Avenue parking lot.

Students will exit the front entrance of the school to board their bus.

When driving your child to school in the morning or picking him/her up in the afternoon, please adhere to the following guidelines:

    • Student drop-off and pick-up occurs in the circle drive behind the school that is accessible via Cedar Street. When dropping off and picking up your child, please enter at the north end of the circle drive—the Cedar Street entrance furthest from the school—and exit at the south end.
    • During morning drop-off, there will be one lane of traffic. Pull up as far as possible to let out your child. All children in the vehicle should exit at the same time using passenger-side doors. Do not make stops at multiple building entrances, and do not get out of your vehicle to assist your child, as this will prevent the line of traffic from flowing smoothly. Staff will be on hand to assist students who need help getting out of their cars and into the building.
    • During afternoon pick-up, do not park or leave your vehicle unattended in the rear circle drive, and do not block the cross walk while you wait for your child. Also, do not park in unmarked spaces or behind vehicles parked in the parking lot.
    • If you wish to assist your child as he or she exits your vehicle in the morning or leaves the building in the afternoon, please park your vehicle in the rear parking lot and use the cross walk near the center of the circle drive to get to and from the school and the parking lot.
    • No student drop-offs or pick-ups are permitted in the circle drive in front of the school prior to 8:50 a.m., as this space is reserved for buses to drop off students during this time. However, if you are dropping off your child after 8:50 a.m., please use the front circle drive accessible via Illinois Avenue so that your child can enter through the front doors and sign in at the office.
    • Please be cautious as you drive in the neighborhood around the school as this is a busy and congested area with lots of vehicular and pedestrian traffic before and after school. While on school grounds, be extra aware because sometimes students forget to look before they cross.
    • Please patiently wait in line to drop off your child in the morning and exit the school grounds both before and after school. Do not try to bypass the line of cars ahead of you by cutting through the parking lot; this is both impolite and unsafe.
    • REMEMBER: Smoking is prohibited on school grounds, and cell phone use is illegal in school zones. Please refrain from these activities while dropping off and picking up your child.
    • Please do not bring dogs onto school grounds during arrival and dismissal hours.

Our student drop-off and pick-up runs safely and smoothly when these guidelines are observed. Car-pooling is strongly encouraged.

Walking to School/Crossing Guards: All walkers must cross Illinois Avenue with our crossing guard. Do not walk in front of moving cars/buses in the front or back parking lot. The crossing guard is located on the northwest west side of the school at the Illinois/Birchwood Park intersection.

School Mission: “One Terrific Journey”—The mission of Thomas Jefferson School is to empower our diverse population to be self-motivated, world-class learners who demonstrate a spirit of respect, responsibility, and commitment to academic and civil excellence. An emphasis on quality within a safe, connected learning community is the essence of our “T.J. Journey.”

Arrival/Departure Procedures: Students should not arrive at school before 7:35 a.m. There is no staff supervision available for children until that time. At 7:35 a.m., the main entrance doors will be opened with staff supervision. All students will enter the building in an orderly fashion and will go directly to the designated area near their classrooms where they will be supervised until they go into their classrooms. It is the expectation that instruction will begin at 7:50 a.m. In order to meet that expectation, we need children to be on time and arrive no later than 7:45 a.m.

Walking to School/Crossing Guards: The Village of Hoffman Estates provides an adult crossing guard at the north end of the building. The crossing guard is on duty before and after school for approximately 15 minutes. For student safety, children and parents should cross with the crossing guard if parents park on the opposite side of Winston Drive.
Parents who transport their children to school should enter the parking lot driving north down Winston Drive so cars turn right into our main parking lot. Please drop-off/pick-up your child in the lane as close to the front doors as possible. Students must exit the car on the passenger side. PLEASE do not drop your child off in the parking lot; this is extremely dangerous. As you leave our parking lot, we ask that you turn right and continue driving north on Winston Drive. Although this may be inconvenient for some, this traffic pattern provides the safest and most efficient procedures for our student and families.

School Mission Statement: “Where Learning and Friendship Count”—As part of an interdependent community, we at Virginia Lake School dedicate ourselves to providing an environment rich in opportunities that challenge and inspire every child to be a world-class, lifelong learner and a productive, self-confident community member. To foster the development of responsible, lifelong learners we:

    • Maintain a safe, orderly, and nurturing community.
    • Encourage a cooperative partnership of families, staff, and community members.
    • Accept diversity as an asset and celebrate individuality.
    • Encourage the development of creative and academic talents.
    • Provide a joyful, child-centered environment.
    • Utilize available technology and research-based curriculums.

Arrival/Departure Procedures: Students should not arrive before 8:20 a.m. There is no staff supervision available until that time.

Students who walk to school or are dropped off enter the building through the southwest Door #4 off Rohlwing Road. Students on buses will use the main entrance Door #1.

Please observe and follow these procedures for the safety of all children.

    • No cars are permitted to enter/exit at Glenn Drive between 8:15-8:45 a.m. and 2:45-3:15 p.m., Fridays 2:10-2:40 p.m.
    • Do not park or leave your vehicle unattended either in the Rohlwing Road lot pull-off or in the parking lot.
    • Students arriving after 8:35 a.m. must enter through the main school entrance. They must check in with the school office to obtain a tardy slip.
    • Drop off and pick up your child northbound from the east side of Rohlwing Road only.
    • No pets on school property, please.
    • Parents may also drop off children in the morning only by entering the school parking lot off Rohlwing Road and circling around to the sidewalk on the south side of the school. Students should exit the car on the passenger side.
    • To ease the dismissal process, designate a location where you will pick up your child. Double-parking on Rohlwing Road is not permissible.
    • You may park in Palatine High School’s stadium parking lot and walk over to the school. This is allowable in the morning and the afternoon.
    • If you are detained and have not picked up your child by 3:20 p.m., your child will wait for you in the main office. Remember that this should be the exception rather than the rule.
    • Any changes in your child’s transportation schedule must be brought to the attention of the school office in writing or by calling the school. If your student’s transportation changes regularly, you will need to meet with the principal.

Walking to School/Crossing Guards: If your child crosses Rohlwing Road as a walker or to be picked up, your child must cross at the walk where the crossing guard is posted just north of the school. The Palatine Police Department determines the location of the crossing guard.

Walkers are reminded to avoid taking short cuts through yards or over dangerous obstacles such as fences or creeks.

    • I will be Safe

    EVERYWHERE I go.

Arrival/Departure Procedures: Students who are eating breakfast may arrive at school at 7:35 a.m. and go directly to the multipurpose room. All other students are to report directly to their classrooms. All students who arrive after 7:55 a.m. are to report to the office for a tardy pass.
During arrival and dismissal time, the front circular drive is used for bus drop-off and pick-up only. Parent drop off occurs at the south side curb of the building. At the end of the day, parent pick-up occurs further south near the school’s playground. Parent drop-off/pick-up maps will be distributed the first week of school. Please be safe and considerate when arriving to pick up/drop off your child. While in line at the curb, you must stay in your car at all times. If you want to walk your child, please park in a space in the south parking lot. Thank you for your cooperation in getting all of our children to and from school safely.

All Willow Bend students have an assigned bus route. Students are expected to ride the bus home unless a parent provides written notification to the school office regarding C.A.R.E., parent pick up, or permission to walk home. If a child is to go home with another student, both children involved must bring a parent note to the office. The school office should be notified directly of any change at the start of that school day.

Bus riders are not permitted to take a bus other than their own at the beginning/end of the school day. Students may only ride their assigned bus routes.

We are … (clap, clap) COLLEGE BOUND!!

Arrival/Departure Procedures: We ask students to arrive at school by 7:35 a.m. as supervision of students does not begin until this time. Students in grades K-2 line up by class outside the C wing doors. Students in grades 3-6 line up by class outside the B wing doors off Babcock Drive. Classes start promptly at 7:50 a.m.

Main Entrance (Palatine Road)—Visitor and special education bus entrance. The south entrance of the school that is accessible from Palatine Road is considered the main entrance of Winston Campus Elementary. Limited parking is available for parents and visitors during the school day. This parking area will be closed off during bus arrival times from 7:15-7:50 a.m. and school dismissal from 2:15-2:45 p.m., or until all buses have departed. No other vehicles will be allowed entrance/exit during arrival and dismissal time.

Palatine Road Driveway—The driveway which enters off Palatine Road and exits onto Rohlwing is designated for bus traffic only from 7:15-8:00 a.m. and 2:15-2:45 p.m. We appreciate your cooperation in keeping the Palatine Road driveway and bus lane free from car traffic so that bus loading is safe for our students.

Rohlwing Road Entrance and Parking Lot—All students in grades 1-2 who get off a bus or walk to school will enter the building using the C wing doors. Supervisors will greet the students and escort them into the building at 7:45 a.m. All students in grades 1-2 will be dismissed from this exit at 2:30 p.m. Intermediate siblings may also line up, enter, and exit the building from the C wing doors. Parking in the coned-off church parking spots is strictly prohibited.

Babcock Drive—All Grade 3-6 students will enter the building at the B wing doors. We ask students to arrive at school by 7:40 a.m. as supervision of students does not begin until this time. Parents are required to drop off children on the south or school side of Babcock Drive. This will ensure student safety and not force children to cross a busy street. The supervisor on duty will escort students into the building at 7:45 a.m. These students will also be dismissed from this exit at 2:30 p.m.

Kindergarten/ECDEC Entrance—The morning session kindergarten/ECDEC students are to arrive by 7:40 a.m. and they are to line up outside the kindergarten doors. Supervisors will greet the students and escort them into the building at 7:45 a.m. Afternoon kindergarten students enter at 11:50 a.m. Parents who drop off/pick up kindergarten students will need to park in the Rohlwing Road lot and walk their child to the kindergarten lines.

Visitor Entrance—In an effort to maintain a safe school environment, all visitors must check in and sign out at the front office. Visitors are required to provide a photo ID to enter the building. All ID’s will be scanned using our Raptor System and visitors must wear a visitor’s sticker. The school office is located just inside of the main entrance. All visitors must enter and exit through the main entrance, as you will not be allowed in or out of the school at any other door.

Drop-Off and Pick-Up Car Traffic—Safety is a primary concern when dropping off or picking up children from school. Please observe all directional site signs and stay within the 20-mph speed limit around the school streets. We ask parents of our primary students to park in the church parking lot and walk your child to the C wing doors. Parents of our primary students are also strongly encouraged to park in the church parking lot and wait at the C wing doors for pick up. Parking in the coned-off church parking spots is strictly prohibited.

Walking to School: As part of the Winston Campus Elementary physical fitness and wellness program, we encourage all students to walk to school. Crossing guards are posted on the corners of Palatine and Rohlwing Roads and Church Drive and Rohlwing Road during arrival and dismissal times.

Students may not enter the building prior to the 7:35 a.m. bell unless they are participating in jazz band or chorus rehearsals, working in the Learning Resource Center (LRC), attending breakfast, have a prior written pass from a teacher, or are directed to do so by a staff member due to inclement weather. Students may not wander or loiter in the hallways prior to the beginning of the school day.

Bicycle racks are provided by the front entrance to the building for students who ride their bicycles to and from school. In addition, a special walkway has been provided for students to walk their bicycles through the parking lot. Bicycles should remain locked throughout the school day with a lock provided by the student. All skateboards must be dropped off in the main office upon arrival each day and may be picked up at the end of each school day.
