Safety First

As part of an ongoing commitment to community information and partnerships, personnel from District 15, District 211 and the Palatine Police Department will present a community education session on the topic of school safety.

The event will be held Thursday, April 12 from 7-8:30 p.m. in the Palatine High School Auditorium (1111 N. Rohlwing Road, Palatine). Administrators from High School District 211 and CCSD15, along with representatives from the Palatine Police Department will focus on school and police coordination, and best practices to maintain safety in our schools.

District 211 and the Hoffman Estates and Schaumburg Police Departments will hold a similar session on Wednesday, April 11 at Hoffman Estates High School from 7-8:30 p.m.

The community education sessions are open to the public.


April 3 is the last day to submit your incoming kindergarten student's letter of commitment to District 15's new Spanish Dual Language program.

District 15's Spanish Dual Language Program for the 2018-19 school year is now available to a limited number of incoming kindergarten students district-wide. Previously restricted to host school students (Jane Addams and Winston Campus Elementary), District 15 is now accept letters of commitment from incoming kindergarten students from other areas of the school district.

District 15's Spanish Dual Language program is a two-way language immersion where students are taught literacy and curriculum in both Spanish and English beginning in kindergarten. The program will be available to 2018-19 kindergarten students and will be housed at Jane Addams and Winston Campus Elementary Schools. The goal of the Dual Language program is to develop bilingualism, biliteracy, academic achievement, and cross-cultural competencies for students. Learn more about the program by clicking here.

To be considered for the 2018-19 cohort of Spanish Dual Language, you must have an incoming kindergarten student and complete district registration forms. You must also submit your letter of commitment to the Spanish Dual Language Program no later than April 3, 2018.
Students whose home school is Jane Addams or Winston Campus Elementary School (Spanish Dual Language host sites) will be given preference into the program. If there is more interest than available space, students will be entered into a district-wide lottery.
District-provided transportation to the dual language school sites is not guaranteed. Students selected to be part of the program will be notified if school bus transportation can be provided. If transportation cannot be provided by the district, families can elect to provide parent/caregiver transportation to and from school or choose not to enroll in Spanish Dual Language. Families will be notified of their placement into the program by April 27, 2018.
District 15 has right of school assignment regarding Spanish Dual Language. Families cannot indicate a preference of Winston Campus or Jane Addams when submitting their letters of commitment.

Young Entrepreneurs Academy

Our junior high participants in the Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!) program have been working hard all year to develop their own business concepts. Their hard work will come to fruition at the annual Investor's Panel Competition Thursday, April 19. 

Much like the hit show, "Shark Tank" students will pitch their business ideas to a panel of investors. Some of our students will receive seed money to bring their business ideas to life. This event is open to the public and will take place from 4-8 p.m. in the Walter R. Sundling Theater. 

Thank you to the Palatine Chamber of Commerce for their partnership in making this program possible for our junior high students. 

Dueling Pianos

Tickets are now on sale to the One-Five Foundation's Dueling Pianos Friendraiser, set for Saturday, April 28 at Durty Nellie's. 

When you buy a ticket to this event, you are supporting classroom mini-grants, Lego Robotics and other educational enhancements for District 15 students. Click on this link to get your tickets.
