Two-Way (Spanish) Dual Language Program
District 15's Spanish Dual Language program is a two-way language immersion where students are taught literacy and curriculum in both Spanish and English beginning in kindergarten. The program will be available to 2019-20 kindergarten students and housed at Jane Addams and Winston Campus Elementary Schools.
The goal of the Dual Language program is to develop bilingualism, biliteracy, academic achievement, and cross-cultural competencies for students.If you are interested in this program and would like more information, please fill out the Parent Interest Form to receive additional information.To be considered for the 2019-20 cohort of Spanish Dual Language, you must have an incoming kindergarten student and complete district registration forms. You must also submit a Parent Understanding and Commitment Form to the Spanish Dual Language Program no later than March 22, 2019.Students whose home school is Jane Addams or Winston Campus Elementary School (Spanish Dual Language host sites) will be given preference into the program. If there is more interest than available space, students will be entered into a district-wide lottery.District-provided transportation to the dual language school sites is not guaranteed. Students selected to be part of the program will be notified if school bus transportation can be provided. If transportation cannot be provided by the district, families can elect to provide parent/caregiver transportation to and from school or choose not to enroll in Spanish Dual Language. Families will be notified of their placement into the program in April 2019.District 15 has right of school assignment regarding Spanish Dual Language. Families cannot indicate a preference of school when submitting their letter of commitment.
