A parent informational session on Spanish Dual Language was held at Jane Addams Elementary School on Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2019, at 6:30 p.m. Letters of commitment for initial enrollment into the program were due March 22, 2019. At this time our dual language program for the 2019-2020 Kindergarten school year is at capacity. We thank you for your interest and look forward to sharing information about the application process for incoming Kindergarteners in February 2020 for the 2020-21 school year.

District 15's Spanish Dual Language program is a two-way language immersion where students are taught literacy and curriculum in both Spanish and English beginning in kindergarten. The program will be available to 2019-20 kindergarten students and housed at Jane Addams and Winston Campus Elementary Schools.
The goal of the Dual Language program is to develop bilingualism, biliteracy, academic achievement, and cross-cultural competencies for students.To be considered for the 2019-20 cohort of Spanish Dual Language waiting list, you must have an incoming kindergarten student and complete district registration forms. You must also submit a Parent Understanding and Commitment Form to the Spanish Dual Language Program.Students whose home school is Jane Addams or Winston Campus Elementary School (Spanish Dual Language host sites) will be given preference into the program.District-provided transportation to the dual language school sites is not provided for students outside of Jane Addams or Winston Campus Elementary School attendance boundaries. Parents need to be prepared to transport their children.District 15 has right of school assignment regarding Spanish Dual Language. Families cannot indicate a preference of school when submitting their letter of commitment.
