About Mrs. Simonian
Welcome CR Families!!
I am Mrs. Simonian, the English as a Second Language (ESL) Teacher at Central Road School. I have been with Central Road since August, 2010. Prior to teaching at Central Road, I was an ESL Teacher at Hunting Ridge (2008-2009 school year), and a 3rd grade teacher at Lake Louise (2000-2007). I received my bachelor's degree in Communicational Studies and a Certificate in Education at Marquette University, Milwaukee Wisconsin (1998). In 2004, I completed my master's degree in Educational Leadership at Concordia University. I can speak fluent Spanish, my family is from Ecuador in South America. Although I speak Spanish, most of my students speak another language other than Spanish!
I look forward to working with many students this year whether they are second language learners or native English speakers. I mostly work with students in the primary grades, but also help out teachers in the intermediate grades when I service any of their students. I enjoy using a "push-in" model so I may co-teach with teachers instead of having to "pull-out" students during important lessons. Pushing-in allows me to work with any students that can use "another" teacher's help!
Outside of school, you may see me around the community! I live in the area and my children will also attend District 15 and District 211 schools. I have 3 children, one girl and twins (boy/girl) and my husband is a PE teacher at Stuart R. Paddock School. Some my favorite activities are running, bowling, and spending time with my family!
