fizer Vaccine Now Approved for Children Ages 5 and older!
The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have approved the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for kids ages 5-11.Clinical studies have shown the vaccine to be safe and very effective, preventing 90% of symptomatic infections in children ages 5-11. Kids also had fewer side effects from the vaccine than teens and adults.Anyone over the age of 5 years old can get vaccinated—it is free for all, regardless of insurance or immigration status.Book your appointment below!

Suburban Cook County is now offering vaccines to residents.
Appointments for individuals can be scheduled at vaccine.cookcountyil.gov. Individuals without internet access or who need assistance scheduling can call (833) 308-1988 (from 7a.m. to 7p.m., Monday - Friday). Cook County Health will only offer appointment slots based on the amount of vaccine on hand and will add appointments as new vaccine shipments arrive.The State of Illinois also has a portal on coronavirus.illinois.gov to provide residents the ability to search for local COVID-19 vaccine locations, information on how to make an appointment, updates on the State's plan and eligibility, and answers to frequently asked questions about the COVID-19 vaccine.

Once your child has received both doses of the vaccine, we ask that you please submit a copy of it to your school nurse. Fully vaccinated individuals are not identified as close contacts, and therefore, not excluded from school if there is a positive COVID case (as long as they remain asymptomatic). This documentation is very important during our contact tracing efforts. Families will continue to be notified if a student is identified as a close contact so they are aware to monitor for potential symptoms.
