2021 NOMINATIONS: The Nominating Committee presented the following slate of candidates at the April 7th, 2021 PTA Meeting:
In accordance with our Bylaws, the slate is being posted for a minimum of 30 days prior to election. A vote will be taken at the May 11th PTA Meeting.
If you are interested in filling a remaining vacancy, you may ‘run from the floor’ at any upcoming general membership meeting.
- You may nominate yourself
- Nominees must be current PTA members
- Nominations are made anonymously via the online form
- Nominations are only viewed by the Nominating Committee
- Elected nominees for President and President Elect serve one-year terms in each role for a total of two years
- All other elected nominees serve two-year terms
- Nominations will not be accepted after

The Executive Committee of the Hunting Ridge PTA is comprised of the following elected officers:
PRESIDENT: Preside at all meetings (general, executive board, executive committee and special meetings). Ex-officio member of all committees except the nominating committee and audit committee. Signatory for all legal documents, including contracts and checks. Appoint members to special committees. Delegate the work of the association to other officers or chairpersons as appropriate. Coordinate work of the officers and chairpersons.
PRESIDENT ELECT: Special assistant to the president. Succeed the office of the president. Ex-officio member of all committees except the nominating committee and audit committee. Responsible for duties as assigned by other members of the Executive Committee and Executive Board. Serves as volunteer coordinator and back-up check signatory. Performs duties of the President in the absence or inability of the President to do so.
1st VICE PRESIDENT – LEGISLATION: Maintains and updates the Hunting Ridge PTA by-laws and standing rules. Disseminates legislative advocacy material and information from National and State PTA. Encourages local advocacy for our children. Performs duties of the President in the absence or inability of the President and President-Elect to do so.
2nd VICE PRESIDENT – PROGRAMS & CULTURAL ARTS: Provides programs for school assemblies that enhance curriculum in an educational and cultural manner. Oversees other educational and cultural program committees. Performs duties of the President in the absence or inability of the President, President-Elect and 1st Vice President to do so.
3rd VICE PRESIDENT – WAYS & MEANS: Assembles and manages committee to plan and execute major fundraising efforts (i.e. Hawk Hustle/Silent Auction). Promotes direct donations and sponsorships. Oversees other passive fundraising efforts (i.e. Box Tops, Amazon Smile, Dine & Share, etc.). Performs duties of the President in the absence or inability of the President, President-Elect, 1st Vice President and 2nd Vice President to do so.
TREASURER: Serves as custodian of PTA funds and financial records. Submits monthly financial reports at every meeting. Responsible for the remittance of the state and national portion of dues. Provides financial reports and records for audit. Responsible for filing appropriate forms as required by the State of IL and the IRS. Serves on the Budget and Excess Funds committees.
CORRESPONDING SECRETARY: Conducts official correspondence of the association via email, newsletter, social media, etc. Maintains a permanent hard or digital copy of all communications. Serves as publicity/public relations liaison. Be available as back-up check signatory if needed. Be available as back-up to the Recording Secretary.
(21-22) RECORDING SECRETARY: Records minutes of all meetings (regular, executive board, executive committee, special meetings). Signs PTA credentials for Convention. Secures current copy of By-Laws and Membership list. Be available as back-up check signatory if needed.
