Thank you for your interest in Winston Campus Junior High School. Located in the northeast area of Palatine, Winston Campus Junior High is home to approximately 750 students in seventh and eighth grades. Our campus is also home to Winston Campus Elementary School. This unique arrangement provides many wonderful opportunities for students in both schools.

Our district mission of producing world class learners by building a connected learning community is one we strive to meet on a daily basis. Our rigorous curriculum, aligned with the Illinois State Learning Standards, is designed to further develop students’ literacy skills, creative and critical thinking skills, and analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as to prepare all students for their high school experience. Our staff utilizes a variety of assessment data to drive instructional decisions to best meet the needs of each of our students.

In addition to our academic program, we offer a wide variety of opportunities for students to participate in extra-curricular activities. Sport teams, academic clubs, and service groups are just a few of the many available opportunities. We encourage all students to seek out an area of interest and become involved.

The teaching staff at Winston Campus Junior High is a blend of experienced as well as novice teachers who all share a desire to work with the adolescent student. We value parent input and participation in our students’ education as we seek to build effective home-school partnerships.

We are very grateful for the support we receive from the PTA at Winston Campus. I encourage all parents to join and actively participate in the PTA. The junior high years go by quickly, and yet it is a time when the students need their parents more than ever. Our PTA meets on a monthly basis, and I encourage you to come to a meeting and see how you can become involved.

I welcome the opportunity to help you get to know Winston Campus Junior High. For more information or to arrange for a visit, please contact the office at (847) 963-7400.

Sincerely,

Mary Baum
