State Test Information Delayed

Every year about this time, the State of Illinois releases districtwide and school specific report cards, along with individual student reports. These reports contain student achievement scores and other relevant information. Most of the data in these documents comes from the Illinois Standards Achievement Tests (ISATs) and other standardized tests administered in the spring of the previous school year. Once these reports are prepared and published, school districts receive them for dissemination within their communities.

This year, however, due to delays with the state test contractor, the Illinois State Board of Education is still in the data verification phase. This means the creation and release of the district and school report cards, as well as the individual student reports, has been delayed. It is not yet clear when that process will be completed, although the state now projects late December 2006 or early January 2007.

Once data verification is complete, it will take a few weeks for the state to generate the reports for release to local school districts. When the final reports are released, we will post them as soon as possible on the district Web site. (The School Report Cards currently posted on the district Web site are based on last year’s report.) Individual student reports will be printed by the state and sent to districts after the district and school report cards are released. The schools will disseminate these student reports to their families as soon as possible after receiving them.
