District 15 Board of Education Nominating Petitions Available
Nominating petition forms are now available for the April 17, 2007, school board election in Community Consolidated School District 15. Forms may be picked up at the Joseph M. Kiszka Educational Service Center on any business day between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Prospective candidates may begin circulating petitions no earlier than November 7, 2006.
Three at-large seats on the seven-member Board of Education will be filled at the April 17 election. Candidates elected will serve four-year terms expiring in April 2011.
To be eligible to serve, a school board member must be (on the date of election) a citizen of the United States, at least 18 years of age, a registered voter, and a resident of the state of Illinois and the school district for at least one year immediately preceding the election.
Elections are nonpartisan and board candidates do not indicate a political party affiliation. Candidates should be aware of financial conflict of interest limitations set forth in state law.
