District 15 Names Two Retirees to Fill Business Position
March 16, 2007
Bob Strande and George Lingel, both former assistant superintendents of business and auxiliary services for Community Consolidated School District 15, will return to the district, sharing the position for the 2007-08 school year. The interim appointments were approved by the Board of Education on March 14.
The current assistant superintendent for business and auxiliary services, Kevin J. Nohelty, will leave District 15 at the end of the 2006-07 school year. Nohelty resigned to take a similar position with Wilmette School District 39.
Strande, who retired in June 2005, joined District 15 in 2000, replacing George Lingel, who retired that year. Lingel had been assistant superintendent since 1991.
“We are fortunate to have such proven expertise available, because time would be short to conduct a full search for a qualified individual before the beginning of the 2007-08 school year,” said Dr. Robert A. McKanna, superintendent. “The experience Bob Strande and George Lingel can bring to bear will be invaluable.” Dr. McKanna, who plans to retire at the end of the 2007-08 school year, also noted that a new superintendent might prefer to be part of the selection process for a new assistant superintendent.
The Board of Education approved 100-day contracts for both Strande and Lingel for the 2007-08 year.
