District 15 Student to Compete in Chicagoland Spelling Bee Suburban Finals

Aamani Paturi, a seventh-grade student at Walter R. Sundling Junior High School, was the winner of the north division of the Suburban Cook County Final Spelling Bee on Feb. 22.
She will advance to the 2007 Chicagoland Spelling Bee Suburban Finals on March 7 at the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn. One student from this meet, along with one student from the Chicago city finals, will participate in the Scripps Howard National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C., on May 30-31.
Aamani is a three-time District 15 spelling champion, having won the district bee in 2004 and 2006. In 2004, she was also the winner of the North Suburban Cook County Spelling Bee.
