District 15 Names Principal for Walter R. Sundling Junior High School
Yvette Davidson, currently assistant principal at Walter R. Sundling Junior High School, has been named principal of the school effective July 1, 2007.
“I am extremely pleased with Ms. Davidson’s appointment,” said Dr. Robert A. McKanna, superintendent. “She is an outstanding person. She’s not only extremely well qualified in working with junior high students and families, but she also knows the school and school community well because she has been a member of the 2006-07 administrative team.” During the 2006-07 school year, retired District 15 administrators David Corbett and David Havell have served as interim co-principals.
Davidson joined District 15 in July 2006, coming from Community Unit School District 220, Barrington, where she taught sixth-, seventh-, and eighth-grade classes at Barrington Middle School, Prairie Campus. She previously taught at Haines Middle School, Community Unit School District 303 in St. Charles.
She holds a bachelor of science degree in education from Illinois State University with an emphasis in junior high/middle school education; a master of science in education in curriculum, technology, and education reform from the University of Illinois; and a Type 75 certificate of advanced study in educational leadership administration and supervision from National-Louis University.
