Pleasant Hill Parent Builds ‘Cougar Reading Cottage’

Students, staff, and grandparents visiting the school for Grandparents’ Day will be on hand at 11 a.m. November 18 for a “Grand Opening” of a new Cougar Reading Cottage at Pleasant Hill School, 434 W. Illinois Ave., Palatine.

Tim Horcher, parent of a sixth-grader at Pleasant Hill School, has spent hundreds of hours constructing a Cougar Reading Cottage in the school’s Learning Resource Center to give students a special place to enjoy reading and looking at books. Horcher’s daughter will wield the scissors at a ribbon cutting ceremony, and the school will present a plaque to him in appreciation of his effort.
