Plum Grove Donates to Make A Wish Foundation
Students from Plum Grove Junior High contributed $219.41 in this year’s “Heart to Heart” drive. The proceeds will be donated to Make A Wish Foundation.
This is the second year for “Heart to Heart,” coordinated by Lena Brottman, an eighth grader at the school. Lena asks students to donate the money they would normally spend on Valentine’s cards and candy to charity, and students vote to determine which charity will receive the contribution. In the past two years, the program has raised almost $500 for charitable donations. “Lena is a wonderful role model for our school,” said teacher Maura Reid.
Assisting Lena with “Heart to Heart” this year were Abby Danekas, Allie Drost, Margo Banakis, Taylor Glassmann, Elise Kotsakis, Alexis Tice, and Samantha Kirby.
