Pleasant Hill Make a Difference Club to Assist Soldier’s Family
The Make a Difference Club of Pleasant Hill School in Palatine is planning a benefit for the family of Army Pfc. Christopher Alcozer, who was killed Nov. 19 while on duty in Iraq.
Just five weeks after his death, his family was left homeless when a fire destroyed their home in Elmhurst. Although all family members escaped without injury, they did not have renter’s insurance to cover their belongings.
Profits from a school raffle of themed baskets, set for Jan. 27, will raise money to be donated to a fund set up at the Community Bank of Elmhurst to assist the Alcozer family. Area merchants are contributing items to be assembled into baskets which will be raffled off.
For more information or to make a donation, contact the school at 847-963-5900.
