SPARK Jan. 10 Meeting to Focus on ‘Developing Successful Kids’
A motivational parent workshop, “Developing Successful Kids: A Mastery Toolkit for the ‘Can Do’ Student,” will be the topic of a SPARK meeting at 7 p.m. Jan. 10, at Plum Grove Junior High School, 2600 Plum Grove Rd., Rolling Meadows.
Presenter Doris Wells-Papanek will discuss helping children to become motivated and independently engaged in their learning process and to accept responsibility for their work. She will offer step-by-step approaches, easy-to-implement learning strategies, and cost-effective learning tools.
SPARK, a Northwest Suburban Council of PTSA committee, serves families of children with special needs in District 15. The group’s purpose is to educate parents, provide resources, network and support for families of all children receiving special education services. Remaining meetings in the 2005-06 school year are scheduled for the first Tuesday of the month in February, March and April.
