District 15 Board of Education Acts on Salary Increases
Annual salary increases for District 15 non-union personnel for the 2005-06 school year were considered by the District 15 Board of Education at its June 8 meeting.
The board voted no salary increases for all employees not covered by collective bargaining agreements for the 2005-06 school year. Among the approximately 350 employees affected are central office administrators, transportation, food service, technology, secretarial staff, as well as principals and assistant principals in the districts 20 schools. Superintendent of Schools Robert A. McKanna, Ed.D., will receive no salary increase for his next contract.
“These staff members are valuable contributors to the success of School District 15” said Scott Boucher, president of the Board of Education. “However, since we had to cut $11 million from the budget and are still facing a deficit of $3 million for the next fiscal year, we have to act now to continue to provide quality education for the future.”
