State Representative Susie Bassi Visits Sanborn
State Representative Susie Bassi, responding to an invitation from a student, visited Gray M. Sanborn School on June 6.
Speaking to an audience of fifth- and sixth-grade gifted students, Rep. Bassi provided an overview of how state government works. The students, whose teachers are Barb Figlewicz and Venus Gintowt, were completing a curriculum unit on American history and government and the Constitution. As part of a writing assignment, one student wrote directly to Rep. Bassi and asked her to explain to the class why citizens have to pay taxes.
