Plum Grove Junior High Students Place in Math League
Students from Plum Grove Junior High School earned top standings for the 2004-05 school year in the Illinois Math League. Plum Grove seventh graders Arjun Puranik and Weili Zheng tied with another student for first place at the seventh-grade level, and eighth grader Yize Leng earned the top spot in the eighth-grade competition. The Plum Grove team—Puranik, Zheng, Leng, and seventh-grader Ansh Grover—took second place in the state.
The students and math team sponsors, teacher Nick Vassos and volunteer Dr. Krish Reveluri, were recognized at the May 11 District 15 Board of Education meeting.
Plum Grove Junior High also ranked first in the regional Illinois Math League standings, and Walter R. Sundling Junior High placed second.
