Carl Sandburg Student Wins District 15 Spelling Bee
Varun Shivakumar, an eighth-grader from Carl Sandburg Junior High School, Rolling Meadows, beat out competitors from 19 other District 15 schools to win the district’s annual spelling bee. Varun correctly spelled the word “lieutenant” to take top honors.
As District 15 winner, Varun will advance to the Suburban Cook County Final Spelling Bee on February 24.
