White Sox Player Visits District 15 Junior High
Chicago
White Sox third baseman Joe Crede congratulated students at Walter R.
Sundling Junior High School during a visit to the school on May 12
in recognition of the school’s outstanding fund-raising efforts
for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Sundling has been the top
fund-raising school in the state in the “Pennies for Patients” drive
for the past six years.
In a live broadcast from Sundling’s video studio, Crede congratulated
students on their outstanding accomplishment and fielded student
questions about the life of a professional ballplayer. Crede then
met with teacher Andrea Turley’s section, which raised the highest
amount of money, and student council representatives and executive
board to sign autographs. Each student received a White Sox calendar
and a coupon for a free ticket for any game of their choice.
