Second-Grade Students Catch Textbook Error
Two Virginia Lake second graders couldn’t believe what they were reading—a mistake in their reading textbook! With encouragement from their teacher, the students wrote a letter to the publishing company pointing out the error.
Now the two are being rewarded for their sharp-eyed proofreading skills. A representative of the publishing company will visit their classroom at 10 a.m. May 18 to acknowledge the students’ attention to detail and bring prizes. The students’ parents have been invited to attend the unusual celebration.
