Central Road Players
to Present ‘Dear Edwina, Jr.’
Fifty-five students from Central Road School’s Central Road Players will present performances of “Dear Edwina, Jr,” at 7:30 p.m. March 12, and at 1 and 3:30 p.m. on March 13, at the John G. Conyers Learning Academy auditorium, 2800 W. Central Rd., Rolling Meadows. The play, sponsored by the Central Road PTA, features 55 students ranging in age from kindergarten through sixth grade.
“Dear Edwina Jr.,” a part of the Broadway Junior Collection™. It’s the story of Edwina Spoonapple who aspires to be a part of the Kalamazoo Advice-A-Palooza Festival and trots out her musical advice-giving show live from the family garage in hopes of finding her place in the spotlight.
“Edwina” is the fifth annual play performed by the Central Road Players acting troupe, directed by Debby and Mickey Volpe. The Volpes founded the Players in 1999 to give Central Road students the opportunity to learn about theatre first hand. Volunteers coordinate everything including set design, costuming and prop management, choreography, makeup and promotion.
The play is open to the public. Advance tickets are not required.
