Jane Addams Student Honored by Radio Station
Jonathan Young, a student at Jane Addams School in Palatine, has been recognized by radio station “The Fish,” 106.7 FM, as part of the station’s contest, “Good Kids Care.”
The radio station asked listeners to write letters telling about acts of kindness done by children. Jonathan’s sister, Rachel, wrote the station a letter sharing her admiration for Jon’s desire to help kids with cancer by growing his hair out for donation to ‘Locks of Love.’ This non-profit organization creates quality wigs for children who lose their hair due to chemotherapy or other medical conditions. Jon was inspired to join this effort because of the experience of his aunt, who was diagnosed with breast cancer.
In honor of Jon’s selection, the radio station hosted a luncheon party for his class at school on February 23.
