Virginia Lake PTA Sponsors Citizenship Forum
Parents of District 15 students who are interested in becoming U.S. citizens are invited to attend a meeting about immigration and the citizenship process at 7 p.m. March 11, at Virginia Lake School, 925 N. Glenn, Palatine. The event is being sponsored by the Virginia Lake PTA.
Jesus Rodriguez, an immigration expert with 15 years of experience with immigration issues, will be on hand to answer questions. Rodriguez is from The Erie House in Chicago, a not-for-profit organization that helps all immigrants.
A follow-up workshop for families of Virginia Lake students who wish to pursue citizenship is being held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 3, at the school. At this workshop, also sponsored by the school’s PTA, applicants will be on hand to help in completing the required paperwork.
