District 15 Names New Assistant Principals, Building Assistants

Seven new appointments—three assistant principals and four building assistants—were approved by the District 15 Board of Education at the May 14 meeting for the 2003-04 school. Three individuals are from within the district, while the other four are currently in other school districts.

The new assistant principals are:
- Joshua Carpenter, Lake Louise School.
Carpenter is currently a core teacher at Walter R. Sundling Junior High School, where he has been since 1998.

- Timothy Haupt, Plum Grove Junior High School. Haupt comes to District 15 from Prairie Grove Junior High School, where he is a sixth-grade math teacher.

- James J. Woell, Winston Campus. Woell is presently an assistant principal at Northbrook Junior High School in Northbrook.

New as building assistants are:
- Lisa Bartlett, Frank C. Whiteley School. Bartlett has been with District 15 since 1991, starting as a substitute teacher. Since 1992, she has been at Walter R. Sundling Junior High School, first as a learning disabilities/behavior disorder resource teacher and this past school year as a student advisor.

- Jennifer Grosch, Central Road. Grosch is currently a first-grade teacher at Dryden Elementary School in Arlington Heights, where she has been since 1992.

- Alessandra Kennedy, Thomas Jefferson School. Since 1997, Kennedy has been a fifth- and fifth-grade bilingual teacher at Thomas Jefferson School.

- Maura Zinni, Stuart R. Paddock School. Zinni has been at Lincoln Elementary School in River Forest since 1984, teaching kindergarten, first, second, and third grades, and also serving as a learning disabilities resource teacher.

“We are pleased to add this talented group of educators to the fine administrative staffs in our schools, ” noted Superintendent John G. Conyers. “We had many excellent candidates for these open positions, and the selection process was rigorous. We believe these seven people will bring energy, expertise, and experience to their new jobs, and we look forward to working with them.”
