Winston Campus Student Wins District 15 Spelling Bee

Niki Patel, a seventh-grade student at Winston Campus, was the winner of the District 15 Spelling Bee held February 13. Niki’s win makes her eligible to compete in the suburban Cook County final on February 24 at Lincoln School in Brookfield.

The District 15 competitors, ranging from fifth grade to eighth grade, were winners of the spelling bees at their schools. They fielded 80 words in nine rounds. Niki bested two other finalists by correctly spelling the word “pungent.”
