District Fifteen Educational Foundation to Hold Dinner Dance and Silent Auction
The District Fifteen Educational Foundation will host the “Hearts of Gold” dinner dance and silent auction on Saturday, February 15, 2003 at 6 p.m. at The Meridian in Rolling Meadows.
Donations from this fund-raising event will support educational programs throughout Community Consolidated School District 15. The cost is $75 per person. Additional sponsorship levels are also available. In addition, $25 tribute cards which recognize individuals for their contributions to the education of the children of District 15 are also available.
Former Chicago Bears, defensive linebacker Jim Schwantz, will be the honorary chair for the event. Jim was born and raised in Palatine and attended District 15 schools including Joel Wood and Gray M. Sanborn elementary schools and Walter R. Sundling Junior High. He also attended Fremd High School. After graduating from Purdue University, Schwantz enjoyed a seven-year NFL football career. He returned home to Palatine, where he now resides with his wife Brenda, daughter Ashlynne, and son Austin. He serves on several local community boards including the Northwest Suburban Recreation Association (NWSRA), Palatine Men’s Civic Club, and the American Cancer Society Relay for Life. He actively volunteers his time as a speaker for District 15 schools as well as devoting time to District 15 PTA-sponsored events.
As part of the evening’s program, approximately 35 students from District 15 will be performing skits and musical programs. The silent auction will include golf packages, dinners, sports memorabilia as well as concert tickets.
The sole mission of the District Fifteen Educational Foundation is to support educational enrichment programs for the students of District 15. The Foundation’s support provides the educational extras that will help to prepare the boys and girls to succeed in the global marketplace of the 21st century.
