District 15 wins Honorable Mention in AASA President’s Technology Awards

District 15 was the only school in Illinois and one of only 24 nationwide to receive recognition from the American Association of School Administrators (AASA) for the 2003 President’s Technology Awards, sponsored by Apple.

This was the first year for the awards program, created to honor AASA members from across the U.S. who demonstrate vision and leadership in using technology to advance teaching, learning, and achievement. “We believe that you exemplify that notion. Congratulations on this honor and accomplishment,” said AASA President John Lawrence in a letter to Superintendent John Conyers announcing the award winners.

District 15’s entry showcased the application of technology, both in schools and at the district level, to support instruction and district efficiencies.

“We are gratified that our efforts to make effective use of state-of-the-art technologies in all our schools and in the departments that support instruction across the district have been recognized in a nationwide awards program,” noted Superintendent John G. Conyers.
