District 15 Spring Orchestra Concert Set for May 16
Beginning and intermediate orchestras from Community Consolidated School District 15 will perform at the annual Spring Orchestra Concert set for 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 16 in the junior high gymnasium at Winston Campus, 900 E. Palatine Rd., Palatine. The orchestras include fifth- and sixth-grade students from 15 of the District 15 schools.
Superintendent John G. Conyers will be guest narrator for the beginning orchestra group, which will perform “The Beginning Orchestra Nursery Rhyme.” This original work, written by orchestra teacher Julie Quitschau with assistance from some of her students, weaves together a selection of classic orchestral pieces.
The intermediate orchestra, directed by teacher Libby Louiseau, will play selections representing various musical styles and periods.
