Thomas Jefferson Drama Club to "Groove" to the '60s
The Drama Club of Thomas Jefferson School will celebrate the 1960s with two performances of “Groovy! A Comedy Tribute to the 1960s” on Thursday, March 22, at Cutting Hall, Palatine. The public is invited to attend either of the performances, at 10 a.m. or 7:30 p.m. There is no admission charge.
Approximately 55 of the Drama Club’s fifth- and sixth-grade student members are participating in this lively performance, which will feature acting, singing and dancing. Fifth-grade teacher Allesandra Kennedy is directing the production, with fifth/sixth-grade teacher Sheila Frankel as scenic director. Additional support is being provided by the school PTA, parents and other volunteers.
The Drama Club, founded by Mrs. Kennedy, is in its third year. Last year the club staged two performances at the school, “Westward Whoa” and “Recess,” and in its first year, the club presented “A Connecticut Yankee.”
