Stuart R. Paddock School is a diverse learning community of approximately 700 kindergarten through sixth-grade students. Our belief is that in an environment of high expectations, all children will learn. Our students continue to exceed the academic growth required to meet the Annual Yearly Progress (AYP) as required by No Child Left Behind (NCLB) legislation. Our staff works with students and their families to give all children the opportunity to achieve success academically, socially, and emotionally.

Our students and staff safely use technology as a tool for becoming engaged in the learning process by utilizing classroom computers, the computer lab, wireless laptop carts, and smart board technology. Students use technology on projects linking Paddock to our community. A class of first-grade students has gone out to interview local businesses and create a PowerPoint presentation highlighting each business for Open House in the spring. A fourth-grade class interviews “Senior Buddies” from Tamarack Retirement Village throughout the year, creating biographies on each buddy which are shared at a spring celebration in the classroom to which buddies are invited.

For the 2007-08 school year students will have a number of extracurricular opportunities. Music (band, chorus, orchestra, and percussion), intramural sports, and service clubs are a few of the options.

We strongly encourage parents and community members to serve as volunteers in our building to enrich our students’ learning environment. Please visist the CCSD15 Senior Exchange Program for opportunities to work in classrooms, the resource center, or the computer lab, and to learn more about the program its benefits for seniors and students.
