The staff at Stuart R. Paddock School is committed to developing positive learning opportunities for our diverse learning community. We are a K-6 learning community of more than 800 students and staff. Our staff works with students and their families to give all children the opportunity to achieve success academically, socially, and emotionally in an environment of high expectations.
Students are exposed to the types of learning environment they face as they go through their lifetime. We incorporate a wide variety of technology to engage our students and staff in a collaborative learning environment to develop and apply problem-solving skills. Students and staff have many technology tools at their disposal. From classroom computers, computer labs, wireless laptop carts, flip cameras, and SMARTboard technology, students connect to the larger community through programs that our students have an opportunity to participate in.
For the 2010-2011 school year students will have an opportunity to participate in extracurricular opportunities (some activities are grade-level specific). Music (band, chorus, choir chimes, and orchestra), intramural sports, and a lunch-hour book club have been a few of the options offered in previous years. For the 2010–2011 school year our students will be working with our Paddock PTA on community-based service projects. Our students will be exposed to the significance, first hand, of what becoming a socially responsible individual means.
We feel that the larger community can assist us in enriching the lives of our students. We welcome parent volunteers, retired members of our community that would like to benefit from the CCSD15 Senior Exchange Program (please click on this link for a more detailed description of the program), and potential future educators that volunteer through the Harper College mentor program and the D211 high school student mentor program.
