The Palatine SeniorNet Learning Center opened in April, 1995 through
the sponsorship of the Palatine Township Senior Citizens Council.
It was established to teach computer skills to older adults (50
or over) in a understandable, enjoyable, and friendly way. Since
opening, over 3,200 class participants have taken advantage of our
program. Taught by all volunteers, we use PC compatible computers
(with Windows98) and MS Works software for teaching Word Processing,
Spreadsheet and Database. In addition, America Online (AOL), Print
Shop (graphics), Quicken (home accounting), Family Tree Maker (genealogy),
and the Internet are normally included in our schedule of classes.
